NSHS Students and Echo Literary Magazine receive GSPA “All Georgia Cover” Award!

Congratulations to graphic design students Kennedy Jackson and Stan Jackson (both class of 2018)  and their instructor Cam Lupiani for winning the 2017-2018  “All Georgia Cover Design Award” from the Georgia Scholastic Press Association (GSPA) for the work on the Echo Literary Magazine. Their work received recognition at the GSPA fall conference/awards ceremony at the University of Georgia in Athens.
Also honored were Alma Kent (class of 2020) for her short story “Come in From the Rain,” Trevion Tillman (class of 2019) for his photo “Melanin Goddesses,” and Morgan

Clemons (class of 2018) for her artwork “Mother of Melanin.” All three students received “Superior” recognition for their work in their respective individual award categories. Congratulations to these students and their supportive instructors in our Arts Magnet: Ms. Dellaria, Mr. Green, and Mr. Gresens.

In addition to these individual  GSPA awards and the magazine’s overall rating of “Superior” in the Small/Medium Size High School category, the magazine received recognition as a “First Class Publication” from the National Scholastic Press Association (NSPA) with a 90% rating and particular recognition for its cover and artwork.

Congratulations again to our creative and talented students!
