North Springs will be hosting its annual Discover North Springs open house on Sunday, January 31, from 1:30-3:30. This unique event, hosted at North Springs, is a great opportunity for prospective North Springs parents and students to learn more about the school.
Discover North Springs is an opportunity for rising freshmen and their parents to experience life as a North Springs student. High schoolers who are currently attending other schools are invited to experience the unique offerings of North Springs. Families are encouraged to speak with North Springs staff members to learn about the school’s broad range of opportunities, from the magnet programs to JROTC. Staff members will be representing North Springs’ various career technical programs, such as graphic design. health science, and business and information technology programs.
There will be a primary focus on the academic benefits of attending North Springs Charter High School. Faculty members, staff members, and current North Springs parents and students will be in attendance to offer information about the school’s 25 Advanced Placement courses, as well as other academic opportunities offered here.
Parents with students living outside of the North Springs district will have access to information about the North Springs magnet programs. North Springs offers a math and science magnet for students interested in going into fields primarily concerned with math or science.
There is also a visual and performing arts magnet, making North Springs the only school to offer a dual arts and science magnet program in Georgia. Parents and students attending Discover North Springs will be treated with performances from students in the visual and performing arts magnet, including from the winter play, Hedda Gabler.
Other than academic information, students and parents in attendance will be able to find out about extracurricular activities offered at North Springs. There will be representatives from multiple student clubs, as well as coaches from some of the 17 varsity sports offered at this school. There will also be accessible information about the various internship programs at North Springs, such as Brian Patterson’s work-based learning program.
