As many people know, the 2013-2014 school years schedule was different than in years past. Last year on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays students would have a seven period per day schedule. On Tuesdays, students would only go to periods 2, 4, 6 and their SPARTA class. On Wednesdays students would only go to periods 1, 3, 5 and 7. Beginning with the 2013-2014 school year, North Springs transitioned to a 7 period a day schedule and on Wednesday there is a slightly alternate schedule, with each class losing about five minutes to form a forty minute SPARTA period.
As for next year, North Springs will be operating on a 7 period a day schedule. Once a month there will be a modified block schedule. For the special block week that will happen each month, Tuesdays will have periods 1, 3, 5 and 7. For Wednesdays, there will be periods 2, then SPARTA, 4 and 6 period. The SPARTA period will last fifty minutes, while the other modified block periods will be ninety minutes. On Wednesdays because of SPARTA students will be released approximately 40 minutes early, around 2:45 PM.
Another minor change from how the schedule was this year is 10 minutes will be taken away from the schedule. Instead of school starting at 8:25 school will start at 8:30, and instead of school ending at 3;35 it will end at 3:30. All classes will last for 50 minutes on the normal 7 period a day schedule.
