Imani Morris, earth science teacher at North Springs, recently was awarded the 11Alive Class Act Award.
Students who are inspired by their teachers can nominate them for this award. North Springs student Issac Chambers submitted his letter to nominate Morris, which was accepted by 11-Alive and prompted a visit to the school to film Morris’ class.
“I consider myself a lifelong learner,” Morris said. “I am constantly assessing and critiquing myself to see how I can be better as an educator. I don not believe I possess any “special” teaching skills. I figure the best way to engage students in the subject matter is by trying to make it as fun as possible. When I was told about being a recipient of the award I was so incredibly honored!”
